Very pleased to give the first details of the Schola's new recording, Jesu, meine Freude (Jesus, my Joy) to be released in October.

Recorded in 2023, the album contains music prepared for a visit to the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, the final resting place of JS Bach.

Over a weekend in February last year, the Schola sang for the three principal services of this famous church. Our music included Bach's Motet, Jesu, meine Freude, alongside works by Byrd, Palestrina and Schola patron Sir James MacMillan's Miserere.

In addition, the recording contains a performance of Zerfließe, mein Herze from Bach's St John Passion, sung by Malakai Bayoh, alongside musicians from St James's Baroque.

More details including some early bonus tracks will follow soon

The Schola can be heard on two tracks on the new album from Finnish symphonic rock band Nightwish. The boys added their voices at Abbey Road last October. The album, entitled Yesterwynde, comes out on 20 September.
