The Schola Cantorum returns to St John’s Smith Square for its annual performance of Handel’s ever-popular Messiah alongside period instrument ensemble St James’ Baroque. The boys of the choir step forward to sing the solos in what has become an eagerly anticipated Christmas event.

Schola record Choral Vespers for BBC Radio 3
The Schola is to record Choral Vespers for BBC Radio 3 on Thursday 30 November at Our Lady of Victories, Kensington High Street. The service starts at 4 pm and is open to all - please be seated by 3.45 pm.
It will be broadcast at 4 pm on Wednesday 6 December. The choir is to sing music by Victoria, Byrd, Valls and James MacMillan.

Malakai Bayoh sings on new Maestro film soundtrack
The forthcoming Netflix release Maestro, a biopic of composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, features singing from Schola soloist Malakai Bayoh. Malakai sings in the middle movement of the Chichester Psalms and also the role of the boy in the extracts from Bernstein's Mass.
The album is released on 17 November. The film will be available on Netflix in December.
