Throughout June 2022, the Vaughan Children's Chorus, with 12 boys from the Schola, appeared in Opera Holland Park's production of Bizet's Carmen.

There were great reviews for the children's chorus, described as 'outstanding throughout’ in The Telegraph, 'excellent’ in The Times, 'on joyous form' in The Guardian and as 'the best children’s chorus I have heard in a long while’ on the website Bachtrack.

OperaWire wrote "perhaps the most sprightly singing of all came from the brilliant children’s chorus from Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, who attacked the music with bite and vigor" whilst musicOMH website also describes the children's chorus as 'outstanding'.

This production of Carmen was outstanding and remains the best opera performance I have ever been to see narrowly beating the ENO's Satyagraha. Everything in this production was perfect, including the amazing singing, and lively performance from CVMS.
