On Sunday 23 October the Schola took part in a performance of Mahler's Eighth Symphony, the Symphony of a Thousand, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall.
31 boys from the Schola joined singers from Tiffin Boys Choir, the Philharmonia Chorus, Brighton Festival Chorus, City of London Choir and the Waynflete Singers, eight outstanding soloists, all under the direction of the extraordinary Vasily Petrenko.
The performance received rave reviews in the national press and some lovely mentions for the boys including from Norman Lebrecht who wrote 'the two boys choirs deserve to be allowed off games for a week (I shall write to their headmasters')'!
